Edit DNS records across several domains

Add, update, or remove matching DNS record sets for a selected group of domains.

Before you start

  • Have the exact record values from your service provider. A bulk edit can affect websites and email for every selected domain.
  1. 1

Select domains and open Edit DNS

Check the required domains in My Domains, then click Edit DNS in the selection toolbar. Wait for the selected zones to be checked.

Review the DNS action and the overwrite notice before applying records.

  2. 2

    Choose the DNS action

Use DNS action to choose whether to add/update a record set or remove matching records. Read the explanation for the selected action. Adding or updating overwrites existing records with the same name and type on the selected domains.

  3. 3

    Enter the records

Use Add domain record for the root domain and Add subdomain record for a name such as www. Choose the record type and enter the required values. Open Advanced only when you need the extra options.

  4. 4

    Apply and inspect results

Review all record names, types, and values, then click Apply changes. Follow the operation notification and check any domain that could not be updated.

What happens next

Completed changes update the selected DNS zones. DNS caches may continue to show earlier answers for a while.
