Transfer a domain to another registrar
Review the lock and eligibility, retrieve a transfer code, and follow any approval request.
Before you start
- Have the destination registrar ready. Transfer codes are sensitive; share them only with the intended registrar.
- 1
Open the Transfer tab
In My Domains, open the domain and click Transfer. Check Domain transfer lock and any Available date or restriction message.
The transfer panel shows the lock, registry restriction, and code actions. - 2
Check whether the domain can move
Unlock only when you are ready to transfer and the control allows it. A code can be available while a domain is still restricted; it does not override a registry lock.
- 3
Retrieve the code
Click Get Auth Code for the current code. Use New Code only when you intend to replace it. In Your transfer code, choose Copy code and enter it in the destination registrar’s transfer flow.
- 4
Follow an approval request if shown
With high security enabled, the transfer may await admin approval. Click View request and check its status. When approved and available, use Show transfer codes. Codes are available only during the approved transfer window. Use Cancel request only if you intend to stop the pending request.
- 5
Transfer several domains
Select them in My Domains, open the Transfer menu, and choose Transfer out. Review restrictions before Get codes. Use Copy all codes or Download CSV while codes are shown; retry missing codes separately if offered.
What happens next
Continue the transfer with the destination registrar and monitor its progress. Keep any downloaded code file private.
