Check a domain’s status, privacy, and lock

Use Overview to check expiry, nameservers, privacy, and transfer restrictions.

Before you start

  1. 1

    Open the domain

Click My Domains, then click the domain name. The Overview tab opens first.

Overview brings the domain’s status and main controls together.

  2. 2

    Check status and expiry

Read Domain Status and the expiry information. Check Current Nameservers to see where DNS is managed. Open Nameservers or DNS when you need to change those settings.

  3. 3

Review privacy and the transfer lock

Use Domain Privacy when it is available for the extension. Keep Transfer Lock enabled unless you intend to transfer the domain. A displayed restriction date explains when a registry lock ends; obtaining a transfer code does not remove that restriction.

  4. 4

    Check renewal and contacts

The Renewal card shows the renewal date and Auto-renew state. Contact Information identifies the primary registrant. Open Renew for renewal options or Contacts to review assigned roles.

The renewal card shows the current setting for this domain.

What happens next

Check the updated status after making a change. A requested registrar change may need time or further action before it is complete.
